'Finger Lakes Weekend Wino' plans two events

Robin Lane, known as The Finger Lakes Weekend Wino, will present a seminar and concert on Friday, Nov. 2.

He will offer a "Lyric and Music Creativity Seminar: Releasing Your Creativity through Lyric and Music -- A Plate of Poetry and A Glass of Song," from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Finger Lakes Institute classroom.

He will also present a live performance, "Songs, Poetry and Spoken Images of The Finger Lakes, from 8 to 10 p.m. in Albright Auditorium.

Lane is an award-winning songwriter and major label recording artist who has turned to writing songs and poetry about the region he has come to call "one of the most beautiful and spiritual areas in the world." He has written and recorded 12 collections of songs in a variety of styles including blues, spiritual, country, folk and rock. His latest CD is titled "Sparkling Diamonds - Songs of The Finger Lakes."

The afternoon seminar is designed for those interested in learning techniques to enhance their creativity. It is free and open to the public, lunch is included, and registration is requested by calling ext. 4382 or e-mailing fli@hws.edu.
